What began as a modest cabin on the edge of Shawnigan Lake has become a dream home for two. The owners set out to create a place that reflected their values, starting with a commitment to reduce environmental impact. Rather than tearing down the original structure, they carefully deconstructed it, salvaging and reusing what they could and finding new homes for the rest.
Fold Architecture designed the new home, and we built it with care from the ground up. Every detail reflects a high standard of energy efficiency and craftsmanship. Large windows bring in natural light and frame the beauty of the lake, while clean, simple finishes keep the focus on the space itself. Compact yet highly functional, the home shows how thoughtful design can make small spaces feel complete, refined, and deeply connected to their setting.
