Founded by Red Seal carpenter Jackson Leidenfrost, Hygge Design is built on more than 15 years of experience across custom homes, renovations, and multi-family developments. Jackson’s background spans every stage of construction, from framing and finishing to large-scale project management. This hands-on expertise ensures designs are realistic, buildable, and carried through with precision. At Hygge Design, we manage details, coordinate trades, and anticipate challenges so you don’t have to.

Hygge Design’s Lakeside Home is featured in YAM Magazine’s “Small but Smart,” and it earns the title honestly. What started as a modest cabin on the edge of Shawnigan Lake was carefully deconstructed, salvaged, and rebuilt into a compact, high-performance home that proves scale has nothing to do with quality. Jackson Leidenfrost led construction and project management alongside Fold Architects, delivering a home where large windows frame the lake, clean finishes do the heavy lifting, and every square foot pulls its weight.
